Off-White Women’s Is Great, But Does Little To Answer Questions About Virgil Abloh’s Troll Status

It wasn't too long ago that I pontificated on Virgil Abloh's troll status after seeing the first images from his Off-White women's collection, while just yesterday our own Nick Grant praised the designer's abilities in the art of le troll. Now, a proper lookbook for the collection, entitled "I Only Smoke When I Drink," has been released, and, once again, displays a collection that is light years ahead what we've come to expect from Virgil's menswear in terms of quality and general taste level (it doesn't hurt that the was lookbook it shot in Paris with a Kate Moss looking ass model). To be completely honest, this is how I assume a lot of our "Perfect Women" would dress—that is to say, in monochromatic color palettes, mixing chic feminine pieces like high heels and dresses with edgier, more masculine items like biker jackets. Shit's just flat out sexy. That said, items like the light washed, destroyed denim and biker jacket are things I wish were included in Off-White's men's offering, and would justify the collection's presence in a store like Barneys much more effectively.
