Tumblr can be either a great barometer for fashion since it's the most used platform for a lot of big brands OR it can be the most useless piece of shit because it's just a community of 100 million teenage girls who click "reblog" on every photo of One Direction. While a lot of the stuff on the platform is aspirational—portrayals of glamorous camping, bearded and tattooed beefcakes and clothing you'll never be able to afford—there is some real shit. Like, this fact: Nike was the most reblogged fashion brand in 2014, surpassing legendary fashion house Chanel and beating out other runway/rapper favorites like Versace and Givenchy. Perhaps Nike owes the popularity to the insane rise of sneakers this past year. Or perhaps they don't give a single fuck because struggle brands that nobody has ever heard of like ROMWE, Sheinside and Angleic Pretty are somehow on the list.
