It's officially November, which means it's also officially "holiday season." All the big box stores will string up lights, prop up fake pine and immediately reduce everything in stock by 30%. For the next month and a half we'll all be inundated with holiday-themed ads to make sure we don't forget what's most important in life: family and, well, yeah, material objects.

Sofia Coppola and Gap teamed up to make a series of relatable holiday ads to remind us that all of our families are fucking weird as shit. Take a look at Coppola's four ads for Gap's holiday "Dress Normal" campaign, which I will attempt to break down succinctly:

-"Misteltoe" depicts a puberty-ridden teenager sidling up to a cougar underneath the mistletoe with the one alcoholic drink he's allotted at the party. Whether this is a family function or just a holiday gathering in the neighborhood, I'm not sure, but he's either blissfully unaware of his state's incest laws or just how difficult it is to pick up older women.

-"Gauntlet" depicts a college-aged, slightly gawkier version of Emma Stone with a gap tooth reuniting with all the family members she hasn't seen since she's been away at college for a semester.

-"Crooner" depicts a young, annoying relative performing in front of his entire family because he won't shut the fuck up already. Our unfortunate hosts wish everyone would just go home already.

-"Pinball" depicts a fuckbuddy relationship that only happens during the holidays because you live in a small town of 5,000 and you're the only semi-attractive people in this god-forsaken shithole. Granted, I'm not 100% sure on this one, but it feels right.

Honestly, these ads are pretty accurate and not that annoying. Basically, Gap wants to sell you "normal" clothing that you would wear home for the holidays so you don't shock your family into submission with all your fire alphets. Yeah, a very common problem for those of you reading Four Pins. At least they aren't Lexus using its own fucking "December To Remember" sales jingle in a goddamn music box.
