Wow, peep The Cut, in the cut, getting the exclusive interview with A$AP Rocky about his claims that blew up the Internet a few weeks ago when he released "Multiply." No, we didn't write about the song then. Sorry, Hypebeasts who really wanted the official Four Pins statement on a line Rocky dropped in a street single. But The Cut hit up one Pretty Motherfucker at the Dior-sponsored Guggenheim Gala last night about what he really meant when he said, "HBA shit is weak, you can keep that" despite having been seemingly ride or die with the brand since the jump. Unsurprisingly, there isn't any real second meaning. Judging by this quick interaction here, we can say that Rocky probably thinks Hood By Air and Been Trill are, in fact, well, weak:
This conversation about Hood by Air, do you think they are weak? Did we misunderstand?
No, there is no misunderstanding.

Rocky does expand on the thought, comparing the Hood By Air revolution with his personal style journey and the Civil Rights Movement (WOW), which adds a least a little bit of dimension to the line:
I’m going to put it to you like this, I can say that I’ve been scrutinized for my fashion since I was about 15 years old. A lot of people got it easy. I feel like I had to go through the whole Civil Rights Movement just to be comfortable, to make other people comfortable, to be able to wear what they want to wear, and a lot of dudes are just claiming to have it without having to have that sacrifice or suffering through all that kind of shit. We’ve been through that kind of shit. That’s all I can really say about it. It is really miniscule. It’s no real beef.
It seems Rocky takes issue with the fact that the new wearers of HBA and Been Trill didn't go through the struggle of finding their personal style like he did. And that, friends, is how a rapper beefs with a fashion label.
