The Womenswear Designers We Want To Start Making Menswear Right Now

Whether you dug Isabel Marant’s first menswear outing, for her forthcoming H&M collection, you have to admit it was thrilling to see such an an eminence gris of womenswear embrace the dude market. Perhaps Marant wasn’t at the top of your sweet dreams list (she may have even been at the top of your “beautiful nightmares” list, though I did I think those fringey Navajo sweaters had a kind of cool deconstructed Fair Isle look), but I’d wager you’re always hoping some more of the womenswear favorites would roll out a few collections of menswear. Ahead, the top 15 designers who should do just that.

          He did produce menswear, long ago–in the early ’70s, I believe. Perhaps your sweater is from one of those collections. Not sure when he stopped, but stop he indeed did.

        He’s made tuxedos for decades. Although that’s not really anything to go bragging about, especially since they were never that great, but still..

    yo Rach don’t you know this is Four Pins and we kinda got a thing against espadrilles here?

    That being said, this was a great read. Far more accessible than that Moy-on-acid piece from last week (which I personally enjoyed but some people just don’t *get it*, yaknow?)

    love mixing womenswear and menswear together…but only some can get away with it, not your typical alpha male type dude but someone who is open to feminine aesthetics.
